Series: Unique body, unique point of view: Eli

H + H model standing against a brick wall

Almost exactly one year ago, Eli recalls meeting Felicitas while DJing the Pride Festival in Sonoma County in 2019. Although our allies and community are at home or at a distance, Her + Her is in the position to stay close to our people, because the brand has been focused on the individual from the very start.

Eli lives in Oakland, California. He loves and spins curated, multi-genre vibes. Just as in music, “fashion is a form of expression for trans queer people, but the fits I find in stores never truly fit my body or style.” Eli is left with limited options to express himself. And he shares this sentiment with Her + Her founder, Felicitas: I believe fashion is a visual story and the clothing industry was failing to tell my story. ” As a Chinese-Asian man, Eli has a natural slender body type. The shopping experience left him with these options: shirt’s that are either too long or too bulky. And he usually ends up tailoring items leading to paying more because of the added tailoring cost. Her + Her allows him to customize the length of his shoulders, something that is always problematic when he buys off the rack. No more tailoring needed. While most brands are reinventing themselves to accommodate a close personal relationship with their clients from afar, Her + Her is already there.

Eli loves that Her + Her is a queer business that he can support. “I personally always want to give back. Style is how I present myself to the world. My style is how I rep my identity and community.”
